Usage Tips
Set a target above your current win rate
For game or sports records, compare the all-results rate with the rate that excludes draws. For trading, you can count breakeven trades as draws and compare the formulas. Enter a target above the current rate to see the minimum consecutive wins needed to reach it.
What is Win Rate Calculator?
The Win Rate Calculator uses wins, losses, and draws to compare your current winning percentage, find the minimum winning streak needed for a target, and preview additional-result scenarios. It displays rates based on all results, decisive results only, and draws counted as half a win, making it useful across games, sports, and trading records with different draw conventions.
How to Use
- 1Enter the current number of wins, losses, and draws as whole numbers of zero or more.
- 2Choose all results, exclude draws, or draws as half a win as the primary calculation basis.
- 3Use Current Rate to compare all three formulas, total results, and the win-loss-draw proportions.
- 4Use Target Rate to enter a desired percentage and find the minimum consecutive wins and projected record.
- 5Use More Results to add expected wins, losses, and draws and review the projected rate change.
Reference Knowledge
- ●The all-results rate divides wins by the total of wins, losses, and draws.
- ●The decisive-results rate divides wins by wins plus losses. A draw-only record has a zero denominator, so this rate is unavailable.
- ●The adjusted rate adds half the number of draws to wins, then divides by all results.
- ●The target calculation assumes every additional result is a win and finds the smallest whole number that meets or exceeds the target.
- ●If the existing record includes a result that is not a full win under the selected formula, consecutive wins can approach 100% but cannot reach it exactly in a finite number of results.
FAQ
Q.Which formula should I use when there are draws?
Follow the official rule of the game or competition when one exists. Use all results for the literal share of wins, exclude draws to compare only decisive outcomes, or use the adjusted formula when a draw is conventionally worth half a win.
Q.How are the wins needed for a target calculated?
The calculator adds consecutive wins to the current record and finds the smallest whole number for which the selected rate meets or exceeds the target. It verifies the result again to avoid floating-point rounding errors.
Q.Can I calculate a target with no existing results?
Yes. When wins, losses, and draws are all zero, the target calculation can start with the first win. The current rate itself is shown as a dash because there is no denominator yet.
Q.Why can a 100% target be impossible?
If the existing record includes a loss or a draw that is not counted as a full win, no finite winning streak can reduce that result's share to exactly zero. The rate can get arbitrarily close to 100% without reaching it.
Q.Can I use this for investing or trading?
You can classify profitable trades as wins, losing trades as losses, and breakeven trades as draws to measure a simple hit rate. Win rate alone does not measure profitability, so also consider payoff ratio, fees, and expected value.
Q.Are my records saved or sent to a server?
No. Calculations run in your current browser session, and this tool does not separately save or transmit the records you enter.
