Scope of Actual Work-Day Calculations

Reference date and last reviewed: July 23, 2026

Calculation Basis

The calculator builds regular work days from selected weekdays after excluding South Korean public holidays and company closures, then applies user-entered paid leave, absences, and holiday work by date. Public holidays prioritize a snapshot saved during site refresh from the KASI special-day API.

Reference Limits

Paid-leave and absence counts shown separately from actual attendance are simple totals of user-entered dates; they do not determine statutory attendance rates or payroll days. Weekly paid rest days, paid public holidays, leaves of absence, maternity or childcare leave, lateness, early departure, and hourly leave are not adjudicated automatically.

When to Confirm Officially

For payroll settlement, annual-leave attendance rates, severance, or disputes, compare the result with the employment agreement, work rules, and attendance records, then confirm individual treatment with the employer or South Korea's Ministry of Employment and Labor.

Usage Tips

Review attendance, leave, and absences by month

Enter an employment or partial-month period, then add actual paid leave, absences, and holiday work dates. Comparing actual attendance and adjustments month by month can help you review timesheets.

What is Work Days Calculator?

How to Use

  1. 1Enter the work start and end dates and select the regular working weekdays.
  2. 2Choose whether to exclude South Korean public holidays and add company closures.
  3. 3Add paid leave, absence or unpaid leave, and extra holiday-work dates from the actual attendance record.
  4. 4Review actual attendance and the monthly leave, absence, and extra-work breakdown.

Reference Knowledge

  • Regular work days = selected weekdays minus applicable public holidays and company closures
  • Actual attendance = regular work days − applied paid leave − applied absences + applied extra holiday work
  • Leave and absences apply only to regular work days; extra work applies only to dates that are not regular work days.

FAQ

Q.How is this different from the Business Day Calculator?

A.

The Business Day Calculator counts dates available for schedules and deadlines or finds a date N business days away. This tool applies individual leave, absences, and holiday work to an employment period to calculate actual attendance.

Q.Does paid leave count as actual attendance?

A.

No. Because it is not a date actually worked, this calculator removes paid leave from actual attendance and displays it as a separate count. Pay treatment and statutory attendance-rate decisions are separate from this result.

Q.What happens to an adjustment outside the selected period?

A.

It remains visible but is ignored with a status message. Leave on a non-scheduled day and extra work on an already scheduled day are ignored in the same way.

Q.How do I record work performed on a public holiday or weekend?

A.

Add the date as extra holiday work in the leave, absence, and extra-work section. A date excluded by the selected weekdays or holiday rules is then added to actual attendance. A date already counted as a regular work day is not counted twice.
